Love it but one big problem filling screen

I have a mid- 2011 21.5” iMac. When i connect to my remote server, the window is pushed slightly above the top of the screen, so it cuts off the top part. The fix i found is that to click the green button and then the green button again and then it fills the screen nicley. It is just annoying and should fill the screen properly the first time.
Otherwise, I love this application and use it all the time. Literally, all the time. I need a windows PC and not a mac so it gets used 24/7
